Taste of History

In the 1800’s this town was named Underhill’s Crossing after the Underhills who were amongst the first families to settle here. In 1852, Lancaster Underhill became the first postmaster for the town’s post office which was located at this very site. By the Civil War period, sentiment arose to change the settlement’s name from Underhill’s Crossing to something shorter — hence the name Bronxville.

To preserve the heritage, we have chosen to name our establishment Underhills Crossing honoring Bronxville’s early tradition.

We at Underhills Crossing are settling here to serve our customers with the same pride and dignity as the early settlers. We would like you to enjoy our restaurant as much as we enjoy serving you.
